The Missouri Spirit Festival was built on one simple idea: bring people together through great spirits, great experiences, and an even better community. Founded and organized by Joe Mawi, Kenny Gales, and Bryan Buesking, this event is more than a festival—it’s a celebration of connection, local pride, and the shared love of whiskey, bourbon, and craft spirits. With a passion for people, a commitment to creating something special in Augusta, Missouri, and a mission to build an unforgettable family-friendly experience, these three founders are proud to welcome you to an event created by the community, for the community.

Bryan Buesking

Bryan Buesking is a husband, father, entrepreneur, and community builder who believes that faith and family are the foundation of everything he does. He has been married to his wife Alli Buesking for six years, and together they are raising their two children, Baylor and Boston. Born and raised in Edwardsville, Illinois, Bryan moved to Wentzville, Missouri in 2020, where he continues to grow both his career and his passion-driven ventures. He currently serves as the Vice President of Sales at Engage PEO, helping businesses succeed through people-first solutions. Bryan is also the Co-Founder of the Barrel Room Bourbon Club and the Barrel Room Podcast, created to unite people through a shared love of bourbon, storytelling, and community. An avid bourbon collector, he enjoys the thrill of the hunt—finding unique bottles you don’t see every day—and believes strongly in a world built on people helping people. His philosophy is simple: do unto others as you would want done to you, and when people come together with that mindset, the community, the industry, and the world become a better place.

Kenny Gales

Kenny Gales is the owner and driving force behind Fallen Brothers Crafted Spirits, a brand built on authenticity, craftsmanship, and a deep respect for the people and stories behind every bottle. With a passion for great spirits and even greater community, Kenny has helped shape Fallen Brothers into more than just a distillery — it’s a mission-driven movement rooted in connection, purpose, and pride.

Outside of the distillery, Kenny is a dedicated firefighter in O’Fallon, Missouri, bringing the same leadership, grit, and heart to his service as he does to his business. He’s also the Co-Founder of the Barrel Room Bourbon Club, where he helps create a welcoming space for everyone—from beginners to seasoned enthusiasts—to connect through whiskey and friendship.

Kenny is married to Jen Gales, the owner of Wilrose Charcuterie, and together they’re raising their two kids, Nolan and Kennedy. He also serves as the Co-Host of The Barrel Room Podcast, where he helps spotlight distilleries, share stories, and bring a fresh voice to the whiskey community.

At its core, Kenny’s mission is simple: build something real, honor the journey, and bring people together—one pour at a time.

Joe Mawi

Joe Mawi is the proud owner of Maui’s Liquor, a cornerstone business known for its strong community presence, unmatched selection, and commitment to serving customers with quality and care. With a passion for bringing people together and supporting local growth, Joe has built Maui’s Liquor into more than a store — it’s a place where relationships are formed and good times begin.

As a key partner in the Barrel Room Bourbon Club at Maui’s Liquor, Joe has helped create a one-of-a-kind experience for whiskey lovers, collectors, and newcomers alike. His vision and support have played a major role in expanding the Barrel Room community, offering members an exclusive place to gather, share pours, and enjoy the culture that surrounds great spirits.

Driven by hospitality, loyalty, and a genuine love for the bourbon world, Joe continues to elevate what it means to be a local liquor store owner — blending business, community, and passion into an experience that keeps people coming back.
